 AL-ANON FAMILY GROUPS Offers understanding and support for families and friends of problem drinkers.  Alateen, (part of Al-Anon), is for young people aged 12-17 who have been affected by someone else’s drinking.   www.al-anonuk.org.uk 

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS Provides a 24 hour helpline offering support, information and advice for anyone affected by an addiction to alcohol.  www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk 

CHILDREN OF ADDICTED PARENTS AND PEOPLE (COAP) Online charity for young people affected by someone else's addiction to drugs, alcohol or some form of behaviour such as gambling.  Peer led support network that enables young people to come together to share their experiences and support each other. www.coap.co.uk 

CRI WEST SUSSEX YOUNG PERSONS SUBSTANCE MISUSE SERVICE  Offers treatment and support to young people and their families where there are drug and alcohol issues. 

FAMILIES ANONYMOUS Offers support through a helpline and self-help groups to families and friends of those with a drug or drug-related behaviour problem. www.famanon.org.uk

FRANK Website and helpline available 24 hours a day for free and confidential drugs information and advice for young people, their parents and friends. A translation service is available for other languages. www.talktofrank.com 

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS (NACOA) Provides information, advice and support to children of alcohol-dependent parents and people concerned with their welfare.  www.nacoa.org.uk

 NATIONAL TREATMENT AGENCY FOR SUBSTANCE MISUSE WEBSITE  NHS special health authority established to improve the availability, capacity and effectiveness of drug treatment in England.  The website has sections for those involved in providing drug treatment, for drug users, their families and carers and items of public and general interest.  www.nta.nhs.uk

SUSSEX ALCOHOL & SUBSTANCE USE SERVICES (SASS) This service aims to minimise the misuse of alcohol and other substances and thereby reduce the harm to the individual and the community.  Offers one to one confidential counselling for anyone concerned about their own drinking or someone else's.

WEST SUSSEX DRUG AND ALCOHOL ACTION TEAM (including Families and Friends Network and Dig-it) The Families & Friends Network supports anyone affected by someone else's drinking and/or drug use.  Services include information about drugs and alcohol, local drop in services and support groups, and individual appointments.  Dig-it is aimed at 11-24 year olds across West Sussex, and aims to provide realistic, interesting and informal information about drugs, alcohol, crime and addiction.
