Access to Princess Royal Trust for Carers
individual grants

As Carers Support Service, Worthing and District  is part of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers network, we have access to certain funds for carers.   Please note that we are only able to make applications on behalf of carers who live in the area we cover (Adur, East Arun, Worthing and Chanctonbury).  If you are not in Adur, East Arun, Worthing or Chanctonbury, to find out where your local Princess Royal Trust for Carers centre is, please go to the Princess Royal Trust for Carers website www.carers.org

The funds are:

  • Carers Break (Individual) Fund
  • Young Carers Activities Fund
  • Educational Bursary Fund (now including funding for driving lessons)
  • Carers Relief Fund (now including funding for individual transport needs)

Availability of the funds varies, so for more information and to see if we can make an application to the fund you are interested in please contact us.

West Sussex County Council/NHS West Sussex short break grants

We also have access to a small amount of funding to help carers in our area to take a short break from their caring role.  This fund is available to adult carers in all care groups although priority will be given to applications from carers under-represented in other break schemes, who have difficulty in accessing other respite services. Priority will be given to carers who do not receive regular breaks and have not had a holiday in the past 12 months.  If funding is granted, it will normally be made payable to the break provider.  For more information, please contact us.
